Mariam Ferguson is a Partner who practices in the firm’s criminal law and probate administration and litigation sections of Mesch Clark Rothschild.
Mariam graduated from the University of Arizona School of Law in 2013. Her interest in criminal law began her final year of law school when she participated in a Criminal Prosecution Clinic, where she was a student-prosecutor of misdemeanor cases at Tucson City Court. Mariam’s legal experience includes clerking for two different Pima County Superior Court judges, prosecuting thousands of misdemeanor cases out of Pima County Consolidated Justice Court and Green Valley Justice Court for the Pima County Attorney’s Office, defending hundreds of indigent persons accused of serious felonies through the Pima County Public Defender’s Office, and as Managing Partner at the criminal law firm of Ferguson Hill Filous.
As a seasoned trial attorney, Mariam has honed her advocacy and litigation skills through numerous evidentiary hearings, 18 jury trials, and over 50 bench trials. Mariam uses her knowledge and experience to successfully defend and protect her clients’ interests. Her strategic approach includes identifying and challenging factual and legal issues in the government’s case, negotiating favorable plea deals, and achieving dismissals through diligent research and passionate advocacy.
